Caleb Hart (class of ‘16) is a part of a growing group of second-generation MWSB students. Caleb’s dad, Brian, attended MWSB in the 1980’s and after visiting campus a couple of years ago, Caleb decided to study God’s Word for a year in the Dearborn Canyon as well.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR TESTIMONY AND HOW GOD WAS AT WORK IN YOUR LIFE BEFORE COMING TO MWSB.
I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home. I was saved at a very young age and the love of Christ was always presented to me growing up. God has been at work in my life more than I could imagine. God provided me with an amazing family, church, and school growing up.
YOUR DAD ATTENDED MWSB BACK IN THE 80’S. HOW DID THAT AFFECT YOUR DECISION TO COME HERE?
If it was not for my dad I would have never found out about this truly amazing place. My dad has turned me into an outdoor fanatic and we have very similar interests. He told me that the years spent here at MWSB were the greatest years of his life. That got my attention! We did a family vacation two summers ago and stayed at the school for a few days. After seeing the campus, I was set on attending MWSB.
HOW HAS GOD TAUGHT YOU ABOUT THE GOSPEL DURING YOUR TIME AT MWSB?
I have learned more and more about the power and love of the Gospel. Each class we have expands my knowledge on the Gospel, but Tom Miller’s class (”What Is the Gospel”) really opened my eyes to the extent of God’s affection for me. I am still amazed every time I realize what God did for me. I will never truly fathom the greatness and cost of the Gospel.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE CLASS SO FAR THIS YEAR? WHAT WAS THE BIG TAKE AWAY FROM THAT CLASS?
Every week on Friday at lunch I think that was the best class of the year, but my favorite professor was Darren Clinton. He taught us about scientific creation, and we asked him to go through revelation one afternoon. I love learning about scientific creation and it was taught extremely well. He explained to us very complicated matters in a very comprehendible way. I learned things about God’s creation that I have never even thought of before and how it reflects God’s wisdom and magnitude.
HAS THERE BEEN A REOCCURING THEME THAT GOD HAS BEEN SHOWING YOU FROM HIS WORD SINCE YOU’VE BEEN AT MWSB?
God is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient. Every week I better understand these aspects of God. God is independent and does not need our worship, but God deserves our praise and worship. I should never be satisfied in my knowledge of the Gospel. The more I read the Bible the more I realize I don’t know the Bible. There are so many foretells to the Gospel in the Old Testament and references in the New Testament looking back to the Old Testament. I have learned that the Bible is trustworthy and fully inspired by Him.
